Mount Etna, or simply Etna, is an active stratovolcano on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, in the Metropolitan City of Catania, between the cities of Messina and Catania. It is one of the tallest active volcanoes in Europe, and the tallest peak in Italy south of the Alps with a current height of 3,357m. What’s interesting is that it doesn’t look like your average volcano as it is actually comprised of three separate peaks.
The most recent eruption was in February of this year (2022) so due to volcanic activity you are only able to get to approx 3,200 metres.
